Casey & Baughman family histories

Casey family history given to museum
Vonda Fairbanks Dihm of Huntsville, Ala., recently donated the second edition of Descendants of Jesse E. Casey 1797-1863 to the Boone County Heritage Museum. The family history, consisting of 79 pages, covers eight generations of the Casey family.
The data in this book is a compilation of personal research done by Vonda Dihm, and from information submitted by other descendants of Jesse E. Casey. Research on earlier generations of the family was done over a period of 25 years in courthouses, libraries and cemeteries in Tennessee and Arkansas; at the National Archives in Washington, d.c. and the Regional Branch in Atlanta; at the Tennessee State Library and Archives in Nashville, Tenn., and the Arkansas History Commission in Little Rock.
Among the many families mentioned in this book are: Brasel, Breedlove, Carlton, Daniels, Davis, Dodson, Farmer, Guthrie, Harrison, Hudson, Henderson, Martin, Mills, Pruitt, Phillips, Robinson, Self, Snow, Sparks, Stephens, Taylor and Webb, plus many other families from surrounding areas.
This book is available for anyone doing family research in the Boone County Heritage Museum. Hours at the museum are Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.
Museum gets Baughman descendant chronology
Glenn Baughman of Harrison recently presented The Descendants of Henry Baughman, Jr., 1750-1807 to the Boone County Heritage Museum. The book covers 11 generations of the Baughman Family.
Heinrich Bachmann, along with Felix and Hans Bachmann, arrived in Philadelphia, Pa., February 7, 1739, on a ship called the Jamaica Galley. Heinrich had nine or 10 children, one being Henry Baughman, Jr. This book beings with Henry Jr. and his descendants, with over 4,124 names listed. Spelling of the Baughman name has changed several times from 1628 until today.
Local families mentioned in the book are: Bolin, Blankenship, Blevins, Brown, Burton, Campbell, Capps, Cook, Dickey, Frederick, Harris, Hayes, Jackson, Lister, McDowell, Ridinger, Roberts, Sutton and Young, plus many other family names.
