JoAnn Forrest Genealogy-Meeting Room
The JoAnn Forrest Genealogy-Meeting Room on the museum's first floor offers researchers volumes of genealogy records to review in a comfortable and relaxing research environment.

Newly-refurbished through a generous donation by John E. Forrest, and dedicated in memory of former board member and volunteer JoAnn Forrest, this room also serves as a place for our monthly Society meetings, special events, and featured speakers.

The Boone County Heritage Museum contains volumes of historical and research information including over 15,000 obituaries, family histories, genealogy research files, biographical data and other records, with many of these stored in this room for easy access.
Visitors and researchers often stop in the museum to search through our available records, and many are pleasantly surprised to find that around 300 families have shared copies of their research work with us.

Our Genealogy Room currently has over 150 family histories available for those doing genealogy research. Most of these historical records donated by researchers include extensive family histories, and will be of benefit to anyone tracing these lines.

In addition, we also have Boone County family file folders available on over 185 surnames. Some folders have many pages of information, while others may contain only a small amount of important names, dates, birth and death records.

We encourage anyone with Boone County-related research records to share a copy with us at the museum.
